ALICIA LOCHEED GOODROW

Alicia Locheed Goodrow, Founder, is the daughter and granddaughter of Houston entrepreneurs and energy business engineers. She learned many practical lessons watching the family businesses evolve as the changing Houston economy, family dynamics, and divergent personalities forced changes in ownership, leadership, and direction.  She learned more practical lessons as an associate with Locke Lord during Houston’s trying business times of the early 1990s and as Senior Director Tax at Enron (before and after bankruptcy) in the early 2000s.

When the Houston economy booms, Alicia is better suited than most to provide practical, grounded advice to companies growing through acquisitions or capital raises or founders launching new ventures.  She has built more successful enterprises than she has unwound – and she counts many, many successful Houston companies among her past and present clients.

Alicia’s experience with larger firms and working with Enron, Shell, and other major Houston companies prepared her to practice law with a high level of sophistication.  But her knack for teaching and passion for mentoring allows her to make complicated concepts simple and accessible.  In 2020, she put pen to paper on her first (but not last) business law book:  Back of the Napkin: A Start-Up’s Legal Path from Idea to Enterprise designed to leverage her teaching skills and legal knowledge into a concise and practical format for entrepreneurs.

Alicia is an optimist who does believe that many of those new businesses will make the world a better place. She founded Pantheon of Women in 2013 to produce films to Entertain, Educate, and Inspire through stories written, directed, and featuring strong and positive women and their supportive guys.  As CEO, Alicia learned to raise capital, craft a business plan, manage a team, re-write the business plan, raise more capital, take apart projects that failed to launch, and celebrate some successes along the way. This venture helped build her network of women entrepreneurs and civic leaders in Houston and beyond.  With her network, she not only provides practical legal advice, but also helps her clients build outstanding relationships and teams of experts to support many different business needs.

Alicia was fortunate to learn Spanish as a child and uses every available opportunity to visit Mexico, Spain, and other Latin American countries. She uses her functional Spanish skills daily with clients and friends. And she is authoring a new book for inbound investors compiling the concise and practical advice of immigration, tax, estate-planning, banking, and other service providers working with Latin American and European clients. Now that her kids are grown, she is becoming more active in the International Bar Association to better serve these clients (and have the opportunity to travel).

Alicia is supported at home by Henry, her husband of 25 years, and her two young-adult children. She recharges her energy through church choir, travel with family, camping with friends, and swimming. She gives back to the community volunteering with refugee services groups, her church, Bach Society Houston, and other nonprofits and is a Life Member of Girl Scouts after 12 years of leadership and mentoring.
